In 1985, upon completing his MBA at the Carlson School of Management, John began his career in commercial real estate with the Chicago-based Irvine Associates, Inc. as a leasing agent.
Over the next ten years, John eventually became co-owner of what is now Reliance Development Company.
Since that time, Reliance Development Company, LLP has developed over
3,000,000 square feet of retail property in the Twin City Metropolitan Area and other major metro areas around the country including Denver, Kansas City, Dallas and southwest Florida.
Currently, Reliance Development focuses primarily on the 13 county Twin
City metropolitan area pursuing small to medium sized retail projects.
In addition to his duties at Reliance, John is a member of the Minnesota
Shopping Center Association and the International Council of Shopping
Centers. Also, John is active in the Minneapolis South chapter of Young
Life serving on two mission communities. He is also a board member of
Alliance Housing, a local non-profit that provides housing for the
homeless and working poor.
Believing
that balance is a key component of a successful life, John enjoys skiing
and hiking in Big Sky Montana, hunting in Canada, and traveling to
unique places around the world. A life long resident of the Twin cities,
John lives in Edina with his wife, Jill, and moonlights as a bank and
taxi driver for his four children. |
